I'm trying to eliminate bubble mailers as much as possible. I didn't find any brand which is fully recyclable in my area. So, I decided to use separated bubble foil and recycled craft paper to pack my parcels for dear customers. Well, it is more time consuming, but I feel good about the fact

that the packaging can be separated, recycled or reused. :)

Snažím sa čo najviac obmedziť používanie bublinkových obálok. Zatiaľ som totiž nenašla žiadne, ktoré by sa dali recyklovať. Preto som sa rozhodla používať samostatnú bublinkovú fóliu a recyklovaný baliaci papier na balenie vecičiek pre mojich milých zákazníkov. Balenie je takto síce trochu časovo náročnejšie, ale mám dobrý pocit z toho, že obal sa môže separovať a recyklovať alebo znovu použiť. :)

Karolinka has got two news today:

1 - new skates; she´s testing them in pyjamas on our carpet
and

2 - she pronunciated correctly the letter "R" for the first time!

(we have different pronunciation of R in Slovak - it is "sharper"

and kids cannot pronunce it correctly when they are too young)

What a happy day!

Karolínka sa dnes tešila z dvoch noviniek:

1. dostala nové korčule, ktoré hneď aj otestovala na koberci v obývačke a

2. po prvý krát sa jej podarilo vysloviť správne "R"!

The most beautiful place in Croatia is the coast of Brela, I think. Turquoise sea. Blue sky. White houses. Green pines. Too high rocky mountains of Biokovo connecting the sky and the sea. We have spent almost two amazing weeks there... again. :) Sometimes I wish we had a tiny summer house there, so we could spend all our summer holidays in such a splendid area.

Whant is your favourite summer place?

Najkrajšie miesto v Chorvátsku pre mňa je pobrežie Brely. Tyrkysové more. Modrá obloha. Biele domčeky. Zelené borovice. A príliš vysoké skalnaté hory Biokova spájajúce oblohu s morom.

Strávili sme tam skoro dva týždne - znova. :) Bolo by skvelé mať tam malý letný domček a môcť stráviť na tomto úžasnom mieste celé letné prázdniny.
Aké je vaše obľúbené miesto pre strávenie leta?

My Little Helper

I´d got an order of some small brooches with my girls transferred to cotton.

Since I didn´t have any "in stock", we started to work on them.

My cutest little helper worked so hard, that I had to take out the camera

and record some details of her tiny hands.

Nedávno som odosielala pár odznačikov - malých butonkov. V zásobe (na sklade :) ) som už žiadne nemala, tak sme sa pustili s Kajkou do práce. Tak krásne mi pomáhala, že mi to pri poslednom kúsku nedalo a nastavila som nám kameru s detailom na tie jej šikovné pršteky.

Na Art Picnicu sa ukázalo, že mi medzi pupa dievčatkami chýba taká pravá ryšavka.

Ani neviem, ako sa to mohlo stať, pretože červené vlasy boli vždy pre mňa vysnívané

a keď ich vidím niekde v mojej blízkosti - obdivujem. :)

I took some photos of my messy working place
while painting my last commissioned piece.

It was a beautiful creative day.

Mr.Pupa took our kids for a nice trip leaving me home alone.

I felt so thankful.

Peaceful hours filled with painting...

Finally, a refreshing storm at the end of the day made me so happy.

Stickers for Her

My lovely little princess really loves stickers.

Stickers of all colors, shapes and materials.

It doesn´t even matter what image is on.

Recently, I returned from my trip with two presents for her:

a very cute bear and a book of stickers.

Karolinka´s reaction was very honest:

she put the bear aside immediately as she saw the stickers!!!

Her tiny fingers love to feel busy.

Moja najmenšia princeznička miluje nálepky.

Nálepky akýchkoľvek farieb, tvarov a materiálov.

Ani nie je dôležité, aký je na nich obrázok.

Nedávno som jej doniesla ako darček z cesty dve vecičky: zlatučkého malého macka a knižku nálepiek. Karolínkina reakcia bola veľmi úprimná:

odhodila macíka nabok akonáhle zbadala nálepky!!!

Jej malé pršteky milujú, keď majú čo robiť.

With so much ado about the splendor royal wedding, my thoughts are meandering on our own modest one.

After our seven-year-long relationship we had made that big step.

Romantic gown,

honest eyes,

lilies and tiny tea roses,

tears of joy...

and the deep feeling that we promised something really important

in the paraller spiritual place.

Pri tých mnohých správach, úvahách a fotkách pompéznej kráľovskej svatby

sa moje myšlienky vracajú k tej našej, skromnej.

Po siedmich rokoch vzťahu sme sa rozhodli spraviť ten veľký krok.

Romantické šaty,

úprimné oči,

ľalie a nežné čajové ružičky,

slzy šťastia...

a hlboký pocit, že sme si na inom paralelnom mieste sľúbili niečo veľmi dôležité.

I adore the tiny toys for little dolls and teddybears,
their cosy mini beds, cupboards, chairs, utensils...

I know, that some of my blog friends love miniatures as well,
so I want to share some of my pictures from Prague Toy Museum.
My favourite picture is the first one with a baby sitting on a pot. :)

Isn´t it true that good toys are ageless?

Mám veľmi rada tie nežné malé hračôčky pre bábiky a medvedíkov, ich útulné mini postieľky, kredencíky, stoličky, riadiky...
Viem, že niektoré moje blogovacie priateľky majú miniatúrky tiež rady

The Doll

Hello! On Friday I´ve finished Sofia, my doll for a show, but I didn´t have time to show her yet.

I´ve almost forgotten how rewarding it is for me to create a doll! Actually, I haven´t made a doll for weeks or even months...

It´s like a magic when you finally assemble such a tiny being. It reminds me of a birth of a child.

I had to give her a little kiss when I saw her finished. :)

She is made of a home-made paper mache. Some of the internal skelet is wood. Her hair is from English Wensleydale Locks, beautiful red chestnut color. Her dress is silk noil with a vintage lace.

Milí priatelia,

v piatok som konečne dokončila Sofiu, bábiku na výstavu - len som nemala čas vám ju skôr ukázať.

Skoro som už zabudla, ako úžasne sa cítim, keď tvorím bábiku!

Vlastne som bábiku nerobila pár týždňov či dokonca mesiacov...

Je to ako kúzlo, keď nakoniec po niekoľkodňovom tvorení všetky časti spojím a vznikne nežné malé stvorenie. Pripomína mi to narodenie dieťaťa.

Musela som jej dať pusinku, keď som ju uvidela dokončenú. :)

Vyrobená je z doma pripravenej hmoty - papier mache,

niektoré vnútorné "nosné" časti sú drevené.

Vlásky má z anglickej vlny Wensleydale krásnej červeno-gaštanovej farby, šatičky hodvábne s jemnou starodávnou čipkou.

My First Boy :)

Hello friends,

I´m busy these days finishing the doll for a show in Prague. I´ll show you some pictures soon...

But for now, let me introduce you little Ludvicek - one of the most beautiful boy babies I´ve ever seen.

I was lucky to paint an illustrated portrait of him.

This was acctually my first commissioned painting depicting a boy.

V týchto dňoch dokončujem bábiku na výstavu v Prahe. Čoskoro vám ukážem pár fotiek...

Ale dnes by som Vám chcela predstaviť malého Ludvíčka.

Je to jeden z najkrajších bábätkovských chlapčekov akých som kedy videla.

Som veľmi šťastná, že som mohla maľovať jeho ilustrovaný portrétik.

Vlastne, je to môj prvý obrázok na prianie zobrazujúci chlapca.

Naša Zem nám neustále dáva najavo, že musíme niečo zmeniť.

Niečo?... Nie, všetko!...

Celý víkend som musela myslieť na Japonsko.

Posielala som moje motlitby trpiacim japonským ľuďom...

a medzitým som dokončila sériu štyroch akvarelových maľbičiek pre milú Riu a jej malú dcérku.

Kiež by náš svet mohol byť len taký pozitívny ako sú tieto obrázky.

Head Sculpture Experiment

I am playing with plasticine to practice sculpturing a doll face. I want to present a doll in a doll exibition Doll Prague 2011. It is an exibition for proffesional and amateur doll makers as well. I´ve decided to take part as na amateur. I´ve registered myself at short notice and now I have very limited time to finish my doll. I have her beautifully designed in my mind but now I need some time to finish her in a material world. :)

Hrám sa trošku s plastelínou - modelujem tvár bábiky. Prihlásila som sa na poslednú chvíľu na výstavu Doll Prague 2011. Prezentujú sa tam profesionálne umelkyne i amatéri. Rozhodla som sa, že to ako neprofesionál vyskúšam. Mám ale už len málo času na dokončenie mojej bábiky. V hlave ju už mám navrhnutú dokonalo, len to ešte chce trochu času preniesť moje predstavy do materiálneho sveta. :)

These are just experiments, the doll for an exibition will be different.

Toto je len moje skúšanie,

bábika na výstavu bude vyzerať trochu inak.

It seems to be endless...

We have been on a walk in the wood and I was looking for something more colorful around us.

The only two sights I spotted were these two red ones.

Zima vyzerá byť nekonečná.

Boli sme trochu vonku v lese.

Hľadala som niečo farebnejšie, čo by potešilo oči v tej šedi.

Našla som len tieto dva červené kúsky.

I´ve made new polka dot designs digitally. :)

Acctually, it was a mixed media technique.

The girls were drawn and colored by hand,

the background paper I ´ve used is the scrapbooking paper.

I will use the designs on my pocket mirrors, buttons and magnets.

I´ve made two custom paintings recently.

I enjoyed painting these two sweet girls a lot. :)

The first one is an illustrated portrait of a sweet curious

girl with her dog friend Lulu. Lulu has got her ear broken...

V posledných pár dňoch som maľovala dva nové portrétiky na prianie.

Maľovanie oboch dievčatiek bolo pre mňa veľkým potešením. :)

Na prvom je milé zvedavé dievčatko s fenkou jazvečíka Lulu.

Lulu má jedno ušlo zlomené...

The second painting is for a little fairy girl who´s good friends are angels, elves and gnomes.

I love these invisible creatures too. :)

Druhý obrázok je pre malú vílu, ktorá sa priatelí s anjelikmi, elfami a gnómami.

Tiež milujem tieto neviditeľné bytosti. :)

I´m giving thanks and enjoying beginning of the advent time and... working hard...

I´m still here, although a little quieter here on my blog.

Finally, I managed to start making canvas copies of my art. My first attempt was Magnolia girl. I have to say that I was jumping with joy when I saw her first time framed in this beautiful vintaged frame.

The reproduction is almost identical with the original painting!

And the frame is just lovely...

Dears, I´m working hard these days on various projects: custom paintings (and a doll:)), Christmas greeting cards and a lot of pocket mirrors and pinback buttons.... so my time is so scarce... I have neglected my blog... I also miss your beautiful blogs which I love to visit. I hope I will find some time soon to visit you. :)

Now I just want to share this amazing dress I have found on Fler.cz - a Czech handmade place. Maybe you remember my post about the lack of feminine style clothing. And this dress is exactly my style! Natural, long and sweet and romantic - but not too much. :)

This one was sold to a talented Czech dollmaker Janul.

This one became a new companion to my little Kajka.

The doll´s name is Paulina. :)

This red one is waiting in my shop for a new owner (mum :) )

who will personalize her = I will write a custom word or a phrase or a date...

on the doll´s white sign according to the customer´s wish.

And this last cutie in a green gown is lying in a shop as well.

I hope they will not wait there for a long time. ;)

What September Gives Us...

My older children have come back from their first day at school…. and... they didn´t seem to be unhappy. Of course, at the end of August they were sad that two months of idleness are over, but there are new things to discover… even in the school. :)

And for me, the arrival of September means more time for my creative endeavors… and more routine. I´m not the person who loves to plan (actually I´m quite spontaneous and impulsive), but some kind of schedule gives my life order.

This is a peek at my finished custom painting of a sweet little princess from Australia – it was true joy to paint her.

I´ve been busy this weekend (and today) with my orders:

printing my paintings, making pinback buttons and

pocket mirrors with my art, packing...

I made up a new style of packaging for my buttons.

(Mirrors will stay in organza bags.)

I like it! It looks quite professional. :)

We are back from our 5 day trip to mountains.

We´ve had a great time together with my parents-in-law.

The weather was just perfect for mushrooms... and we had found some very pretty...

The Storm

A few hours ago an amazing storm run above us.

Every time the storm is dancing behind our windows I feel so strong feelings:

trust in our Lord, gratefulness, awe, diminutiveness, admiration, amazement...

... I want to wash what is ugly in me...

...so that the rainbow can shine for me...

The storm is comming.

(Those with a fantasy can see a "storm creature" formed from clouds - :))) he is holding a big thunder hammer in his hand, but unfortunately, his head is not included in the photo... )

What Do We Have For Dinner?

That is a typical question in most families lets say at 6 p.m...

My today´s answer was: "bryndzove halusky".

I thought you would be interested, so I give you an idea...

This is our true national food -Sheep Cheese Dumpligs. Everybody visiting Slovakia must try it. The most important ingredient is a special sheep cheese made exclusively in our region called BRYNDZA. The taste of bryndza is hard to achieve by some cheese substitute, but I have heard that Italian cheese Strachino may taste simmilar. The best bryndza comes from sheep eating aromatic grasses and flowers in May.

The meal is quite simple to cook. Small pieces of potato-flour dough are boiled in water, drained and served with bryndza and roasted bacon pieces. It taste great with sour milk called zincica. Here is a recipe in English.

The only thing I do not like about this meal is a bowl dirty from a sticky dough... :)

Heart Of Sorrow

Dear people,

after my blog break I´m hear again...

A lot of news here... but not all of them are good.

I´m not sure if the blog world will approve my todays post,

but I feel I have to write about it.

It is a big part of my everyday life...

On the very next day after my son´s birthday, my dear father had left this world.

He was just 61.

It has been more than 2 weeks now, and all our family still feels so much sorrow.

..........

But we have to live our lives...

love, work, play, eat, take care of kids, create...

and we will keep him in our hearts forever.

My dear little man is now 9 years old. Well, he is not so little now... :-)

He is very busy these days, because his Hockey Camp has started.

But he has find some time to enjoy his favorite cake I´d baked for him today.

Croatian Days

A week spent on the Croatian cost has given my beloved (and me too) a lot of good energy. We have spent time together in a joy and that was exactly what we all needed. I´m thankful for that time. A perfect beginning of the summer holidays...

And... I was thinking a lot... about life, spirituality, my forgotten ideals and my art... I believe I am ready to take a step further in my life now...

Custom Paintings

This week I have finished two custom paintings.

These were my first "portraits" from photo.

The first one is this cute little girl with...

...her big green friend called Muf.

I had been hesitating if I should make him a part of the painting

since he is so different creature from those I ussually draw...

But now I think he is fun to look at.

The contrast of these two is quite interesting...

Don´t you think so?

The second painting was made for two little sisters:
Anicka and Terezka with their beloved kitten Masenka.
I was so happy to hear that they have recognised
themselves immediately on the painting.

Obrázky na prianie

Tento týždeň som maľovala dva "portréty" na prianie podľa fotografie.

Prvý je dievčatko s kamarátom Mufom, ktorého som spočiatku maľovať ani nechcela,

pretože na môj vkus je trochu divoký. Ale keďže je to modelkin najlepší priateľ - musel byť na obrázku tiež. :-)

Nakoniec celá kompozícia vyzerá celkom zaujímavo - práve kvôli tomu kontrastu...

Na druhom "dvojportréte" sú dve sestričky Anička a Terezka s ich milovanou mačičkou Mášenkou.

Bola som veľmi potešená, keď som sa dozvedela, že sa dievčatká na obrázku ihneď poznali.

On a rainy walk with Kajka and our doggie Vilko
I took some pictures.
Then I played with Picnik a little...

Daždivý deň + nové rámiky.

Dnes bol taký upršaný deň.
Boli sme na malej mokrej prechádzke s Kajkou a Vilkom,
počas ktorej som spravila pár fotiek
a potom som sa chvíľku hrala s Picnik-om...

and framed the prints.

This is my contribution for this week Illustration Friday theme: Fearless.

Her name is Taja and she flies without fear toward new adventures.

I´ve returned to my watercolors these days... As I was doodling, this little girl emerged on my paper. I feel she is inspired by my youngest daughter Kaja. I have several other of these little girls on my desk right now. I hope I will show them to you soon...

Dievčatko menom Taja letí bez strachu oblohou k novým dobrodružstvám.

Vytvorené pre portál Illustration Friday s heslom týždňa: nebojácny.

V týchto dňoch maľujem opäť vodovkami a spontánne vzniklo toto dievčatko - inšpirované našou najmladšou Kajkou. Už mám na stole niekoľko podobných obrázkov hotových. Snáď v najbližšej dobe niečo z nich ukážem.

Moje prvé ACEO kartičky

Zdravím vás, milí priatelia.
Nemôžem odolať a musím vám ukázať tieto tri malé zlatíčka. Sú to moje prvé mini zberateľské ACEO kartičky. Inšpirovala som sa u mnohých maliarov, ktorí tieto kartičky maľujú pre zberateľov. Rozmery sú cca 6,5 x 9 cm.
Som celkom potešená ako sa nakoniec vydarili – a už dnes viem, že túto malú kolekciu budem určite rozširovať ...
Použila som akvarelové farby, tuš a moje nové akrylové farby Winsor & Newton, ktoré sú naozaj skvelé (ako sľubovali v tom obchode, kde som ich kupovala).

My First ACEO´s

Hi, my friends. I cannot resist and have to share with you three little cuties today. These are my first ACEO cards (2,5”x 3,5”). I was so happy drawing them! I know for sure I´m going to extend this tiny collection. I used my trusty watercolors, ink and my new Winsor & Newton Artists' Acrylic Paints. I´m very satisfied with the way they paint – they are the best colors I have ever had.

Pasque Flower

Every spring our family makes a trip to our mountains to visit a place we privately call: The Pasque Flower Meadow. There grows a flower which exists only in Slovakia. It is very rare and therefore protected by law. It´s Latin name is Pulsatilla subslavica. Wikipedia says that there are around 30 species of the genus Pulsatilla in the world. Well, this Slovak pasque flower became a part of spring tradition in our family.
And it was a nice trip and also our youngest one did it (with our little help). :)

Poniklec

Každú jar sa naša rodinka podujme na turistiku do blízkych kubrických lesov, na miesto ktorému súkromne hovoríme Poniklecová lúka. Rastie tu krásny a zákonom chránený kvietok poniklec prostredný (Pulsatilla subslavica). Už sa nám stalo, že sme ho niektorý rok nezastihli kvitnúť, ale tento sa to podarilo. Návšteva tohto krásneho miesta sa stala jarnou tradíciou v našej rodine.

Girl with a White Cat

I was longing to paint again for a week or so but I didn´t get a chance. Children and other family and housekeeping issues were holding me away from my paints.

But I finally find some time and ... I felt so HAPPY to paint again!

Although the little Illustrated Girl had to wait unfinished for two days - now she is perfectly done (at least for me:) ).

Dievčatko s bielou mačičkou.

Už dlhšiu dobu sa pokúšam nájsť si čas na maľovanie, ale akosi mi to nevychádzalo.

Nakoniec som si medzi hraním s malou, prechádzkami, varením, upratovaním, praním, nakupovaním, učením sa s deťmi a vozením na krúžky... :) našla nejaký ten čas a znovu som maľovala.

Cítila som sa pri tom tak dobre!!!
